⭐It’s a pity that Bharath Sriraman has such a strong presence in so many of the chapters, even when he did not actually do the research that is being reported; and the way that some of them are written give the misleading impression that he was actively involved in the research. I was also disappointed in the quality of the editing. There are subtle little editorial or grammar mistakes that have not been corrected by the editor.The topic is an important one, and deserves attention. This book could have been great. As it is, it still makes a contribution, especially thanks to the empirical evidence of the contributing authors.

⭐This book includes studies on creativity done by Sriraman and his doctoral students in Turkey, Iran, China among other places., and by Lee and his colleagues in Korea. The real impact of the book is the inclusion of detailed methodology on how creativity in mathematics can be studied/measured and the inclusion of regions that are not often heard from in the dominant discourses of creativity. Another round of editing may have benefited the end quality of the book, but the glitches do not take away from the message conveyed in the book, namely: creativity is not an elitistic construct but an everyday one with a cultural component to it (as demonstrated by the chapter from Israel), even in mathematics!
