User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This e-book, New Pathways in Science by Arthur S Eddington, is terrible in its formatting and lack of subscript and superscripts. For instance, 10 to the negative 27th power appears as “10-27”. In addition, the whole of CHAPTER XI The Constants of Nature, is completely missing. The chapters are re-numbered for a total of 13 chapters instead of the original 14. By not mentioning that this is an incomplete edition, the publishers have done a disservice to readers but especially to Eddington. The missing chapter, from Eddington’s perspective, was probably one of the most important chapters in the book.

⭐This is a remarkably wise volume, with words written by an outstanding scientist and deep thinker. What Eddington did in this amazing work is show how difficult yet rewarding the observation and analysis of nature can be. As he says in many ways what we really study is our relationship to the world (universe), where translations and blind spots can always crop up. Its a message that deserves reinforcement today as it did when Eddington crafted his beautiful prose. Its a great read with an important and beautifully crafted message.

⭐Eddington was a towering figure in the greatest boom period of modern science. To see and understand it through his eyes and extraordinary gift of writing is still amazing today
