Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐This book was required text for an introductory IT course. It’s a great textbook. I’ve decided to keep it as a reference for future classes. The book is very thorough yet concise. The concepts are easy to follow and are explained in a way that relates everything to current(at the time) tech products and services. It’s a great overview and reference.
⭐Buyer and Sellers Beware of which version of this book you are buying and selling. There is an INTRODUCTORY version and a COMPLETE version of this same 8th edition. It is obviously confusing to unaware people like me until after the mistake. I bought the INTRODUCTORY version used only to find out it ended at chapter 9 and I had to read chapter 13 for the next week. So I came on here and bought the COMPLETE version from a used seller and they sent me the INTRODUCTORY version. There are two separate listings on Amazon for each of these two books; they have different ISBN numbers; but the titles are “almost” the same–INTRODUCTORY vs COMPLETE!!!!! Amazon should point this out to people. Look at the top of your book before selling to see if it says INTRODUCTORY or COMPLETE and list it in the right listing. If you are buying like me contact the seller before hand to make sure he/she has the version of the book you need (and to see if CD or CDs is/are included). I have two INTRODUCTORY versions now and an assignment due tomorrow in chapter 13. I have to go buy a digital ebook chapter now for about $10 or get a 0 (F). See this book: [ASIN:0131391585 Technology In Action, Introductory (8th Edition)] and compare it to the ad for this one–look at the very top of the pictures for the very small visual difference.
⭐This text was required for my basic computer class. Its a decent book, but the author couldn’t decide what level audience he was writing to. The most basic things would be painstakingly explained, only using more complex terms that hadn’t been covered yet.Almost the entire book was in Question and Answer format, like one giant FAQ. This (sometimes) made it easier to find a tidbit or factoid, but didn’t help readibility of the text as a whole. All in all, the book has has lots of facts, but doesn’t do a great job of helping the student put it all together.
⭐This was a very fun and also borning class to take for any nursing student. The book was great and very helpful exspecially to any one who takes it online like I did. This book will be your right hand man so to speak.
⭐This book literally a know-it-all guideline to tech. It really is a dictionary if you think about it. My class questions were super easy as it came directly out of the book.
⭐Ok
