Description
An introduction into numerical analysis for students in mathematics, physics, and engineering. Instead of attempting to exhaustively cover everything, the goal is to guide readers towards the basic ideas and general principles by way of the main and important numerical methods. The book includes the necessary basic functional analytic tools for the solid mathematical foundation of numerical analysis — indispensable for any deeper study and understanding of numerical methods, in particular, for differential equations and integral equations. The text is presented in a concise and easily understandable fashion so as to be successfully mastered in a one-year course.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐As a numerical analyst, I find this book to give the most intuitive introduction to numerical analysis. In addition, I find the exercises at the end of each chapter well designed to have readers prove results as opposed to having readers work out trivial computations by hand.
⭐Very good product and service!
⭐I bought this book three years ago for Numerical mathematics course I attended.Since then I used this book for 4 more courses (Iterative methods, Numerical Analysis 1, Numerical Analysis 2, and I used chapter on function analysis for the first part of introduction to normed space course). The book is very well written, with nice explanations of theory. My favorite chapter is chapter on matrix eigenvalue problems. Chapter on iterrative methods is also very well written. Last three chapters (initial value problem, boundary value problem and integral equations) are cornerstone of the book. You will not find a lot of books with nice and short introduction to that theory. Especially on integral equations.Book is not easy. You will have to read and think about some theorems inside, but that is the feature 🙂
⭐This book is horrible…explanations are very unclear, or better said, non-existent at all.A clear exposition is not given at all.
