⭐This book provides a broader spectrum and slightly more in-depth examples compared with other wavelets and is valuable book to give you a slightly different perspective from other wavelet books.I have one big problem with my book: It goes from page 10 to 43 (11-42 are missing) and is has duplicative pages 43-50. This appears to be a defect caused at the printer/binder. It’s unfortunate because pp12-42 are 75% of Chapter 2: Wavelets from an Electrical Engineering Perspective. Luckily I didn’t pay the full new price listed or I’d be sending it back. Is it worth the full price? Yes, if all of the pages are there.This book is a great companion to any wavelet theory book (I use Wavelets in Electromagnetics and Device Modeling, by George Pan at ASU).I like this book because of these particulars:–The authors don’t skip many steps when deriving formulas and they are thorough in their explanations–The authors make use of many plots and representations that are uniquely different than other theory books–The authors cover surface current in more detail than other wavelet books (most reference Harrington and don’t break it down)–This book is a “who’s-who” of wavelet applications in electrical engineering from Filter applications, waveguide analysis, denoising of signals, microstrip applicationsI’d give this book 5 stars if my copy wasn’t missing the key beginning pages that cover the basics I was looking for. I haven’t contacted the publisher yet but I’ll update if I have better luck. I’ll be keeping this book close to read the different perspective the authors present. You don’t get the standard matrix sparcification plots normally presented.—-Update—-I contacted the publisher and after a couple of iterations they send me the missing pages on pdf. Initially they wanted me to return the book but I purchased the book on Amazon used. I appreciate the publisher sending me the copies vs returning the book to the bookstore and forcing them to lose money. The missing pages were valuable because they’re from the key beginning chapters.
