User’s Reviews

Editorial Reviews: Review From the reviews:”Aeroacoustic Measurements, edited by Thomas Mueller, aims to provide a single reference volume for practitioners assembled by acknowledged experts in the field. … Throughout Aeroacoustic Measurements there are up-to-date case studies, real experimental data and references to put the information in context and show its practical relevance. Its unique strength is the considerable amount of low-level technical detail that would otherwise remain unavailable … . This well-written and concise volume will prove to be invaluable for those involved in aeroacoustic measurement work … .” (K. Takeda, Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Vol. 502, 2004) From the Back Cover The goal of aeroacoustic measurements is to provide a basis for assessing mechanisms of noise generation, and to develop methods of reducing noise to more acceptable levels. However, the measurements themselves are complex, and require a deep understanding of the experimental facility utilized (such as a wind tunnel), measurement instrumentation, and data analysis techniques. In this volume recent advances in the measurement and understanding of aerodynamically generated sound are presented by leaders in the development of new techniques in this field. Both basic and applied problems are covered in detail.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I purchased this book while working on a project to build an acoustic phased array that need to image in refractive environments. There is a fairly detailed and complete presentation of standard beamformers and propagation models that I was able to implement sections of this text in C++. It is written like a special topics book, or conference proceedings, containing sections written by different authors. In that sense it’s a little difficult to follow, there is a lack of flow and connectivity between sections. I have my favorites sections and have been in contact with the authors of those sections for additional information. I would not recommend this text for those uninitiated in acoustics or phased array signal processing. This is more of a reference for professions to delve deeper in a specific topic. It did the trick for me and we were able to use certain section of this text on the job.

⭐Excellent content, oriented to practical aspects on aeroacoustic experimental analysis, with current techniques detailed and commented by experts on the field.
