Description
This collaborative work presents the results of over twenty years of pioneering research by Professor Simon Haykin and his colleagues, dealing with the use of adaptive radar signal processing to account for the nonstationary nature of the environment. These results have profound implications for defense-related signal processing and remote sensing. References are provided in each chapter guiding the reader to the original research on which this book is based.
User’s Reviews
Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Haykin presents a specialised set of papers on radar analysis, that focuses on the marine environment. The most critical usage would be in warfare, when one needs to rapidly detect a low altitude missile that is coming towards your ship. In real life, the archetypal recent example would be the successful use of Exocets in the Falklands War.Haykin and other authors study the issue. Spanning some 20 years of research. It is a difficult problem. Exacerbated by the diffuse and multipath nature of much of the radar signal, when the radar is looking at sea level. The reader should note that the analysis has been greatly aided by the enormous advances in computational power. This hardware improvement makes feasible much of the real time nature of the presented work.
