Description
This is the eBook of the printed book and may not include any media, website access codes, or print supplements that may come packaged with the bound book.Electronic Communications: A Systems Approach provides a comprehensive overview of wireless and wired, analog and digital electronic communications technologies at the systems level. The authors’ carefully crafted narrative structure helps readers put the many facts and concepts encountered in the study of communications technologies into a larger, coherent whole. Topics covered include modulation, communications circuits, transmitters and receivers, digital communications techniques (including digital modulation and demodulation), telephone and wired computer networks, wireless communications systems (both short range and wide area), transmission lines, wave propagation, antennas, waveguides and radar, and fiber-optic systems. The math analysis strikes a middle ground between the calculus-intensive communications texts intended for four-year BSEE programs and the math-avoidance path followed by some texts intended for two-year programs.

⭐Uh college book for a college education.
⭐Very complex and simple at the same time… still helps the teacher explained in a easy way to understand. Love the hard cover
⭐Excellent lessons on communications.
⭐Outstanding book
⭐This book is one the texts the faculty has asked me to consider as the basis for a communication systems course I teach in an associates degree program. In general, the authors do an excellent job describing the electronic technologies comprisinng communication systems. The authors deal with many complex topics with plain language, clear illustrations and appropriate level of math.A few things could use some more depth. I would like to see a chapter explaining the MPEG-2 data stream used in ATSC televison as well as the 8VSB, QAM-256 and OFDM modulation techniques used to transmit televsion. While the chapter on space communication is quite good, the Navstar global positioning system only gets a brief 1/2 page mention. Mobile phone systems and many emergent consumer products make use of or require GPS to function, thus more detailed coverage of GPS and its limitations is deserved.Over all this is a very good book, especially on the fundamental technologies of electronic communication. I rate this text 4.5 stars, and would give it five stars if a television chapter were added.
