Description

In the rapidly advancing field of flight aerodynamics, it is especially important for students to master the fundamentals. This text, written by renowned experts, clearly presents the basic concepts of underlying aerodynamic prediction methodology. These concepts are closely linked to physical principles so that they are more readily retained and their limits of applicability are fully appreciated. Ultimately, this will provide students with the necessary tools to confidently approach and solve practical flight vehicle design problems of current and future interest. This book is designed for use in courses on aerodynamics at an advanced undergraduate or graduate level. A comprehensive set of exercise problems is included at the end of each chapter.

User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This text is a good undergraduate introduction to incompressible aerodynamics. However, this text contains several typos. Some of them are very noticeable but probably still disturbing for a student not familiar with the topic. Its is possible that the text contains many more typos that I didn’t noticed. The text cover basically the matter of a semester class in aerodynamics. Chapter 1, 2 and 3 are essentially a review of fluid mechanics. Chapter 4 and 5 covers potential flow and flow over 2D airfoils respectively. Chapter 6 covers the aerodynamics of finite wing. There is a short chapter about the aerodynamics of axisymmetric body. There is only a relatively short chapter (chapter 9) on more advanced topics such as boundary layer, transition and turbulence. Finally the last chapter is a global summary with a very short introduction to aircraft performance.
