⭐ I bought this for work since I had just started working at a winery. I love the “for dummies” books because it’s all the useful information of a textbook without the fluff and written in language normal people can understand. I liked it so much, I bought the 5-in-1 and plan on giving the basic one to my mother since she only needs naive knowledge, and I could use advanced eine know-how.
⭐ I had some wine knowledge before purchasing this book, but not nearly enough to feel comfortable buying without assistance. This is a clearly written and easy to navigate reference.
⭐ I tried to be romantic and gave this to my girlfriend as a gift along with a wine night. She loved it! We did not know anything about wine and the book goes over the basics of everything from the actual making of wine to how to properly drink it. It goes into a lot more depth than I was expecting and I think the book does a great job to set you up into really getting into wines.
⭐ Very informative and easy to use. A great book for people wanting to learn the very basics and get some practical advice for how to get the most enjoyment out of their wines.
⭐ This is the first “…for dummies” book I’ve read. The chapters are laid out in such a way that you can easily skip around to find the information you need without having to absorb information that you DON’T need. The tone of the text is informative but casual enough that you shouldn’t be bored.
⭐ Great wine book! My boyfriend and I are just really getting into wine and we wanted something to help us learn more. I got this for him as a gift and he is really liking the book. It is BIG and there’s a lot to learn. great for beginners.
⭐ Perfect way to educate yourself on wine and not fall asleep doing so. I work at a liquor store and I use this to buff up my wine knowledge
⭐ A good primer for a novice wine purchaser and entertainer.
⭐ Very simple and easy to read
⭐ I actually consider myself pretty knowledgeable about wine (certainly not a dummy), but I was suprised at how much I learned from this book! This is a very comprehensive book that cleared up many of my misconceptions about wine. One of the big and simple things I learned -I’ve been storing and serving my wine too cold – and accordingly missing a lot of complexity and flavor. The book has a detailed overview of the European wine regions. I am a California wine fan, and knew little about French and Italian regions. Now I can go to the wine shop with some confidence and expand my wine horizons. The book also uses very easy to navigate icons that highlight various aspects of the wine under discussion. The book covers everything about wine – from how it is grown, how to pair it with food, how to store it, to how to buy it in a restaurant. It is written in an unpretentous and funny style that is entertaining to read. It is also helpful in instructing how to order wine in a restaurant – which can sometimes be daunting, Overall a great book that taught me a lot!One recommendation. I bought the Kindle edition – and wish I had bought the actual book, as it becomes more of a reference book and it would be easier to access in paper.
