⭐I have several books on mazes and labyrinths, and this is my favorite “light research” maze book so far. What it isn’t: it isn’t a coffee table book; it isn’t mystical, but it isn’t rigorously academic either. It’s a nice brief and concrete history of various types of mazes. It does cover many of the possible meanings of labyrinths and the Minotaur legend, but without too much speculation.I’ve also found the book is referenced by several modern scholars and mystics, so it’s a nice starting place for your personal journey into the labyrinth.

⭐I purchased this book based on the wonderful reviews. Sadly, the copy I received had none of the images that should have been included, and the type is extremely small. There are numbers in boxes throughout this book, which I think are page numbers from where the text was copied from another source and not edited out. This 90 page version is not worth it and will be returned.

⭐Great book!

⭐Quirky 1923 British prose sort of delightful. Perfectly suited my needs as historical expository. Photos dark and grainy, but illustrations were clear and useful.

⭐need to use a magnifying glass to read the type

⭐Meaning and history of mazes are discussed in this thorough catalogue. Diagrams and old prints make the literal descriptions come alive.

⭐good book.

⭐There are no images whatsoever in this book although body text refers to them. I’m surprised Amazon permits this publication to be offered on their website.
