⭐This book is one of the first attempts by the founder of the Cambridge ritualist school to present a coherent overview for the general public. Clear, with good citations and use of evidence from ancient texts and sculpture.

⭐I’ve always been interested in ancient Greece. Was gifted this book by a friend and very much so enjoyed. Would recommend!

⭐An interesting and informative read, thankfully brought back for public consumption by the wonderful ‘Forgotten Books’. However, my one criticism is that, as the book is a direct copy of an older source, the font can at times be imperfectly preserved and therefore hard to read, although this is offset by the largeness of the type.
