    Description

It is a book produced by a remarkable cultural circumstance in the former soviet union which fostered the creation of groups of students, teachers and mathematicians called “mathematical circles”. The work is predicated on the idea that studying mathematics can generate the same enthusiasm as playing a team sport—without necessarily being competitive. This book is intended for both students and teachers who love mathematics and want to study its various branches beyond the limits of the school curriculum. It is also a book of mathematical recreations and, at the same time, a book containing vast theoretical and problem material in main areas of what authors consider to be “extracurricular mathematics”.

    User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I have made it a point to gift this book to kids of middle school if I feel they have some interest in mathematics or puzzles. I personally have spent a lot of time solving problems in this book. The initial problems in each chapter are very easy but the latter problems are quite challenging. I have not been able to solve all problems. Disclosure: I am a hobbyist mathematician and love teaching kids about problem solving. Please note this is not a textbook.

⭐The book contains immense number of question to solve and also examples…although 1 thing..though the name says “mathematical circles”, its not just about circles or geometry..it contains combinatorics, parity, etc etc….MUST BUY THIS>>>:)

⭐Received the product just two days after I ordered it. Excellent service by Amazon. The book looks perfectly intact with no binding defects whatsoever. Extremely good packing. Now, as for the stuff inside the book, very well written. I personally recommend it as a “must-be-in-the-hands-of-every-puzzles-and-mathematics-lover” book. Great job by the authors in bringing out this masterpiece!!!

⭐Just amazing! The problems here in this book are truly amazing. They are for every ages and you learn a lot of mathematics from this. Some topic beyond high school level such as pegion hole principle, invariants, graph theory, diophantine equations are all here!

⭐Many pages are blankPages 162,163,166,167,170,171,174,175 and many more are completely blank.Feeling upset
