Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I’ve been with Yahoo Stores for several years now and am responsible for multiple sites. I’m also responsible for multiple other sites that aren’t Yahoo Stores. Many lessons learned in this book will easilly translate over to my non Yahoo Store web sites.I’m also a regular attendee to the SES shows. I could have saved a few thousand dollars and bought the book instead. Realistically, the book is certainly a benefit to Yahoo Store owners, but he has a whole section, 4 chapters, that deal with Internet Marketing. For the price, even if you don’t own or plan on opening a Yahoo Store, you need this book!I’m not much of a review person. This is the first Amazon review I’ve ever written. But I received this book and put it to use the day after I bought it. Real world tips and real world examples. Rob doesn’t talk to me like I’m some dummy but he doesn’t talk over me either. For example, page 258 – “Digging keywords out of your orders.” – Another trick to help me find converting keywords. I was already aware of the search results trick and use it often. Here is another method for me to obtain those hard to find, converting keywords. And it was simple!! Why didn’t I think of that before??Rob Snell….. You Rock Dude!

⭐I have to say that Rob Snell wrote a great book and he really knows what he’s talking about. I was able to open my own […] store […]. It was functional. It looked decent but outdated. None of this is the author’s fault, I’m just saying this for those of you who are considering opening a yahoo store. The Store Editor is ….dated.Even though I wouldn’t recommend opening a Yahoo store, this book is packed full of great advice that applies to anyone opening an e-commerce site regardless of the technology used. I don’t think I would have actually pulled the trigger and opened a store if it hadn’t been for Rob’s motivating and inspiring words that he inserts from time to time in the book. He has a lot of knowledge that he shares about e-commerce.My advice in Oct of 2009 for anyone considering and e-commerce site is to use Magento. I’m currently rebuilding my store using it and it is packed full of features that are missing from Yahoo’s store manager. One example is customer ratings/reviews. I’ve seen ads that yahoo store developers are charging $1,000 to add this to a store. It’s free in Magento, and Magento is free too, it’s open source. A domain registration costs $10 a year and you can find site hosting for $5 a month bringing your annual cost to $70 to get started with Magento. yahoo Stores cost $40 a month ($480 a year)…you save $400 bucks a year for a vastly superior site. The book is great, Rob is great, but this book was written in 2005 for a technology from the 1990’s. I don’t know why, but Yahoo! seems to have stopped developing what at one time was the best e-commerce product out there.

⭐Rob, do you have a fan club? ‘Cuz I’m you number one fan. I’ve had a Yahoo store for 5 years and I never knew how much important information and SEO I was missing until I picked up this book. I read through the entire book first, now I am going through chapter by chapter making the recommended updates.Rob really knows first hand about making Store improvements because he isn’t a background programmer – he’s a store owner that has tried everything he teaches. He’s tested it, then reports on the proven methods. My book arrived June 1st and that is when I started making improvements – I can’t wait see the results.Rob, Thanks for sharing such valuable information!

⭐I received this book brand new and fast. I highly recommend this book for anyone starting a Yahoo! Small Business (now called Aabaco). This guide walked me step by step from start to finish when I opened my online store with Yahoo! It is a must-have!

⭐This book is well written but tells me nothing about how to use Store Editor. I’ve spent hours reading the book with Store Editor open in front of me and I still can’t get it to work like he says it will.Store Editor is the worse program I’ve ever tried to use. It’s very cryptic and navigation is illogical. I can use Dreamweaver but not Store Editor.GB

⭐I purchased this book thinking I could enhance my existing Yahoo store with the information. This book is only useful if you use Yahoo’s Store Editor program and the author states this in his introduction. I use another program Yahoo Sitebuilder, so I turned around and ordered that book too. The title is very misleading….this is really only a book about using Store Editor to build your Yahoo store! If that is what you need the book seems pretty useful.

⭐Not earth shattering…

⭐I still have doubts that we will keep our stores on the Yahoo for very long but if we were to keep them there it would be because of this book. The author does a great job of explaining: 1) what you should be doing as a store owner, 2) why you should be doing it and 3) how you go about doing it. No where can you find a resource that provides all three of those.I know it’s hard to keep print pieces up to date with technology. The book is somewhat dated. I would love to see him bring out a new edition. That said, it is still an extremely helpful resource. If you run a Yahoo store then you would be an idiot to not own this book.
