    User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐As far as textbooks go, this is reasonably priced, and I think the concepts here have really enriched my understanding of matrix decomposition (which will help for my career in machine learning). However, I found the book to be difficult to understand, and it didn’t have to be that way. Definitions were concise, but did little to help me understand what role these definitions would play later on. I spent several hours reading the definition for T-admissible space over and over again because, although I understood the literal definition, I had no sense for what a T-admissible space looked and felt like, or how they fit in with other concepts I was learning. Visualizations would have gone a long way here. I ended up needing to program my own tools to play around with the concepts. They leaned on proofs to try to explain the theorems. Proofs are great for persuading the reader that a theorem is true, but they’re not good for building intuition. It doesn’t help that symbols from long ago were often not redefined in context, so I’d have to flip back to remember what things like the t superscript meant. If the proofs were preceded with more intuitive explanations, and if the notation was refreshed, the proofs themselves could be less wordy and more concise.Speaking of which, I really wish the authors didn’t use the word “transpose” the way they did, especially since they used similar notation for their meaning of transpose as is commonly used with the more common definition of matrix transpose.

⭐Basically unreadable for an engineer, who is not interested in “proving” why the various theorems are true, but only about applying the important concepts needed for their specific subfield. So much other free content that provides this out there. I guess mathematicians needs to self train themselves on how to read dense math texts and how to write proofs and this book is basically written for that purpose.

⭐It’s funny because it says that circulation of this book outside de Indian subcontinent is unauthorized, and I buy it from Argentina. Although the book cames with two stickers that covers that message, it says the same inside the book . In other hand the cover and the sheets are low quality.

⭐When first reading through this book, it was a bit confusing, as I have never have been exposed to its very formal style of teaching mathematics. However, after going back and spending a bit more time, I have found I really enjoy the structure and formality of this book. I would recommend it to anyone learning linear algebra.

⭐This book is printed in India.

⭐A gem in this age full of books of mediocre explanations of subjects that need to be explained down to the last detail.

⭐The book is very well-written, but does not contain some topics added to many linear algebra curricula in recent years.

⭐The product was mailed as described.

⭐Loved it, personally I think this is the best linear algebra book for mathematicians. It combines mathematical rigor with clarity. Moreover there are many challenging problems.

⭐The book is a classic, so the content is great. However the printing of my copy is really bad, and some words on some pages have not been printed properly.

⭐Absolute stunner. Book dates back in 1970 and first published in 1960 .It was written for linear algebra course taught at Massachusetts Institute of Technology so its contents and rigor depict in writing. Book has some advanced topics which relate directly to functional analysis. Spectral theory and some theorems related to the same are provided . I suggest have this book as early as possible.

⭐I know the book is good for subject point of view. The stars are less because the page is so dark and very difficult to read. I don’t know why the publishers are publishing on the low-end quality paper. I personally felt very about this. This is one of the masterpieces of linear algebra and one may want to keep it for a long time if the quality of the paper is bad how one can keep it? I am utterly unhappy with the Amazon also as they mentioned paperback but actually a mass paperback quality.

⭐Directly working from solving Systems of Linear Equations usually not a good start to study Library Algebra. Start from Real and Complex Fields and move slowly is the best approach. Those who are into Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence should also read this book for the purpose of innovations. It’s as good as LA by Gilbert Strang. It’s one of the oldest books.Readers can also give a try by looking for LA by MIR publishers.
