    User’s Reviews

Editorial Reviews: Review While aimed at beginners, Dummies also highlights new features in Quark v.6for up-graders seeking to brush up their skills. Clear prose, step-by-step instructions, tips and warnings make this a useful guide; sidebars and brief notes on “technical stuff” provide additional information without overwhelming novices. Content ranges from a basic introduction to the interface up through creating web projects and indexes. Covering both the Windows and Mac versions, this is a good purchase for all public libraries and those seeking to replace older guides (see Computer Media, LJ 9/11/02). Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐QuarkExpress has a fairly steep learning curve so any help in short cutting that learning curve is helpful. Easy to find topics, but it is a program that requires basic knowledge in order to get up and running. As with all books for “dummies”, the humor is a bonus. I recommend this book.

⭐Quark is a huge, complex program, and every guide book will have certain limitations of scope. Having said that, I highly recommend this guide for beginner or pro, since it covers the subject matter with unusual clarity.

⭐I love my new version of QXP and I used this book to help me get to a place that I could order an update of Quark to 9. All the “Dummies” books have been helpful to me at one time or another.

    ⭐Works for me

    ⭐Just what I needed!!

⭐I ordered this book for a job I did not get, however it is still going to be very valuable in my current job. I am gladd it was available.

⭐I work as a copy editor at a newspaper, so I needed a book which would help me get started real quick! I played around a bit with Quark years ago, but I really needed it fleshed out for my understanding. This book explains all the basic tools in Quark, and gives some good technical tips. I just wished it could have also given some advice on decent layout design. I keep this one at my desk!

⭐I have been using ‘Quark’ for quite a long time but this book told me things I never even dreamed of. Forget all others – this is it. You too can become a magician
