Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This is one of those cases where what I thought I was getting in fact is NOT WHAT I GOT!. Honestly, the book seems to be ok, but as a learning refrence it’s not anywhere close to what I thought it was going to be. I bought the book because it said it was aimed towards beginners and pros, and that it was a good place to start. NOT> If you already have some PHP knowledge, it might be useful as a refrence guide. But it covered stuff like navigating the files on my computer and I just don’t know why I would ever go through the trouble of writing a script for that. If your knowledge is intermediate, this book might be ok for you, but if your beginning your knowledge from day one like myself. stay away from this book, it’s not what your looking for.

⭐This book is rather outdated because it was written in 2004. There are some good parts but some of the resources mentioned in the book are no longer available. The author’s website is not helpful either because scripts that she says are available on her website are not available. Overall assessment is that it is somewhat helpful but outdated.

⭐The product was as described and the shipping was fast.

⭐Fantastic book. Got me up to speed in a couple of hours. I recommend it highly.

⭐I got a lot of use out of buying this book. It is helping me to plan the development of my websites.

⭐I can now code in php 5! Yea for me!

⭐Very easy to comprehend for the new leaner and great refresher for the experienced! Wish I had this book when I first starting learning PHP – but still serves as a great reference and refresher course book and guide.

⭐Item as described, fast shipping.

⭐Another excellent offering from the Dummies series. CLear and easy to use.I found it useful as my first introduction to PHP

⭐Very good primer for PHP5, covering Windows and UNIX. I knocked 2 stars off because almost on page 1 it says ‘go away and learn HTML before you try to read this book’. Which doesn’t really make it PHP ‘for dummies’ it is really PHP for HTML proficient webmasters.

⭐Not for beginners, as ‘Dummies’ books surely should be, even though it said a working knowledge of HTML was required.

⭐Great book, highly recommended.
