Cosmic Rays is a two-part book that first elucidates the discovery, nature, and particles produced by cosmic rays. This part also looks into the primary cosmic radiation; radio waves from the galaxy; extensive air showers; origin of cosmic rays; and other cosmic radiations. Part 2 consists of reprinted papers involving cosmic rays. Papers 1 to 10 treat the nature of the radiation, arranged chronologically; in Papers 11 to 16 the scene moves away from the Earth.

⭐Rather difficult reading for those not in this field. About half of book composed by author Hillas,the rest is 16 reprints of papers by other authors on the subject of cosmic rays. Book from the1970’s probably could benefit from later research. Good value for a used book at $10, newcopies are over $100. Pages were of good quality, clean and unmarked. Formerly a librarybook rather than a marked up student’s book. Probably checked out only a very few times.Gives history of cosmic ray research from 1900s to 1970s, and it continues in 2010s. Thishistory is pretty accessible to most readers in my opinion.
