⭐I think this book shines as a reference manual for someone whom only uses the techniques on occasion. I read through the entire book and found the explanations clear and easy to digest. With that said, it is important to note that this book serves as a STATS 101 reference and will NOT go into detailed analysis techniques. In the future I just wish there were a few more questions at the end of each chapter.I would recommend this book.

⭐This turned out to be a really good book on Stats, and I have used it a lot and learned a lot from it. Sarah Boslaugh did an excellent job of injecting enough of her personality into the book to give it a sense of perspective, and keep it accessible and interesting, without watering down the subject matter or making it useless for the purposes of actually learning a very challenging branch of mathematics.I had an earlier addition that I kept checked out from the library for months as I worked through it, and finally decided to go ahead and get my own copy. In comparing editions, I find that this edition is actually a little better organized, and the approach slightly more systematic, though the changes are all relatively small.

⭐Some of the pages are out of order. At first I thought they were missing until I thumbed through the book and realized the missing pages were in another chapter. Its annoying but at least they are there or else this assignment would be difficult to complete.

⭐I did okay in Statistics in college, but the textbooks I had were not well suited for review. I believe my experience mirrors many. There was also a lot missing. Classes and their textbooks tend to be narrowly focused to majors or topics, e.g. Stats for the social sciences, Stats for Education, Stats for Science & Engineering, etc. My work requires looking at financial information one day, database info the next, maybe productivity the third. Statistics in a Nutshell is a great source for getting a grounding in sample selection, understanding confidence and trend analysis. I appreciated finding a textbook-quality treatment without a college textbook price.

⭐It’s a good book. I’ve taken graduate level stats classes so I already understood a lot of the concepts in this book prior to reading. Some of the information in this book helped me understand concepts I’d learned, but not previously mastered. I would recommend to anyone wanting to refresh on stats

⭐Well written, easy to follow refresher Stats book.

⭐Great supplement to lectures. I’ve also found myself using it is a primary resource to learn from bc it’s so damn good.

⭐It’s a well-written and easy to understand book if you need to review statistical concepts. I’m glad I bought it.

⭐The Kindle edition has some errors in the text and equations. I’ve spotted 2 or 3, there may be others.They’re kind of obvious if you know the subject, but could cause people who’re learning stats from this book (rather than refreshing) to make serious errors.Four stars might seem a bit high for a book with significant errors, but it’s clear, well organised, and doesn’t throw you into the deep end too quickly. That’s rare in a mathematics book.I just hope the e-book edition gets fixed.

⭐Neat, clear and concise. With excellent examples. And all exercises have not only the result, but solutions shown in steps and notes about why a certain formula was applied (what’s the point of an exercise with solution: “25”? and if your result is 23? You are stuck.)I’ve checked about 15 books for my students, and this is really a gem.

⭐So much info, so well written. I’ve read the first three chapters so far and the review exercises really help point out bits I thought I’d absorbed, but hadn’t quite fully, so I can go back and re-read. I like few maths books, but this one’s awesome.

⭐This is such an easy book to open and read. For a tough subject the author has done very well.

⭐This is an excellent book. Not only clear and complete… but it makes you love statistics.I used to refresh my statics study that was more than 20 years ago and … I would have liked to have it used then. Thanks Ms. Boslaugh for this great job.
