Description
The breadth of matrix theory’s applications is reflected by this volume, which features material of interest to applied mathematicians as well as to control engineers studying stability of a servo-mechanism and numerical analysts evaluating the roots of a polynomial. Starting with a survey of complex symmetric, antisymmetric, and orthogonal matrices, the text advances to explorations of singular bundles of matrices and matrices with nonnegative elements. Applied mathematicians will take particular note of the full and readable chapter on applications of matrix theory to the study of systems of linear differential equations, and the text concludes with an exposition on the Routh-Hurwitz problem plus several helpful appendixes. 1959 edition.

⭐Dear sirsTensor, vector and matrix calculus are fundamental for the study of mathematics, they are important for physics, but they also have an tremendous role in astrophysics, geometry, relativity and mathematics, they are the base of Einstein’s equations, and this book as notorius arguments to better comprehende matrix, vector and even linear algebra, and it was donated by me to my father college-the Lisbon- Instuto superior tecnico-, to the Faculty, department of physics, and to centra.ist.utl.pt- scientist Vitor Cardoso- classical quantum gravity referee, his works that are availabe in his page that can be consulted in […] fenix.ist.utl.pt , and, […]”pesquisar”, or “search”-“Vitor Cardoso Tecnico” they are in fact strongly recommendable as they use this type of mathematics, i hope this book donated by me to this university has been proven usefull in their mathematical research.P. ⭐As the other reviewers say, this is a great book. A word of warning, though. This is a new translation of Volume II of the author’s Theory of Matrices. If you already have both volumes, no great need to buy this. If you don’t, do get this new translation that has been made independent of Volume I, and it has been partially updated (to 1959) , as the translator says in his introduction.
⭐A classic book, although quite technical, but sometimes has insights and results that are hard sometimes to find in other, much newer matrix analysis texts.
⭐Good book. Good reading.
⭐Nice for future reference.
