⭐A well-written, thoughtful introduction to observational studies. This is one of the classics, made up of Cochran’s unfinished (at the time of his death in 1980) monograph “Monograph on Non-Experimental Studies”. Do not be put off by the fact that the copyright is 1983 … Cochran identifies the challenges any observational (non-experimental) study faces in clear, accessible language. The statistical techniques may have advanced over the years, but the challenges are the same and Cochran is a master of explaining those challenges clearly and thoroughly.
