⭐Fascinating ideas on psychology, he’s not just copying the superficial forms of mathematics and applying them blindly to psychology. He is instead working through the methods that are used to construct a very specific type of mathematics, topology, and using the same method to construct a comparable logical foundational structure for psychology. The concept of “Life Space” by itself is fascinating. It is a bold enterprise overall.While he provides ample explanations for those who are unfamiliar with mathematical topology, I found that it still required reading a few articles on Wikipedia to provide elaboration on where he was going with some of his concepts.Lewin keeps referring to Vector psychology, seems like this may have been a planned work, applying vector mathematics to psychology like he did topology. Like he was on the verge of a breakthrough, but not quite there.The sober style makes for dry reading, but still well worth it though.

⭐This book was originally pusblished in 1936, and Lewin is regcognized as one of the founder (or the fouder) of social psychology… so this is a classic, period. The book is far away from trivial, but fortunately Lewin explained all the topological concepts involved in his proposal of modeling. If additionally to your interest in psychology you have some background in mathematics you will find the book truly fascinating.

⭐Maybe I’m not getting something, but this book left me wondering “Well, what’s the use of all this information? How can I apply it? I don’t know.”And it was very difficult to read too.

⭐This book is hard to find, and expensive when you do. It is important to a paper I am writing on Action Research. Kindle lets me borrow it from myself without filling up my book-shelves.

⭐Lewin is marvelous and this book is so loaded with information and detail on how Gestalten might be used,viewed and tracked in the perceptual process, that it is an invaluable potential base for serious play in the minds of it’s readers. The book is as powerful today as it ever was, and it was great from the day it was published. For people who like to think about thinking, visualizing what happens, and how things work, It would be difficult to find a better or more comprehensive book on “human mapping.”The book is straightforward,well written, and a grand explication of how one might capture multiple aspects of human processing, scientifically or otherwise, in a visual format or a cognative map.If one wanted to find basic information on ideas like fields, boundaries,paths,interactions and a host of other ideas, he or she might be hard pressed to get a more fundamentally solid set of definitions and constructs with which to work. This is dynamite stuff. People who like psychological history will love to speculate on the importance of this book. People who like to reinvent the wheel will enjoy it one more time by embracing this seminal gem from 1936. I just love it.

⭐The book is amazing. Because, the book has a frendly introduction to topological psychology. Contents of the book include 2 main chapters. Firstly psychological introduction to mathmematical terms and topology, secondly, topological psychology. If you interest topology then you would find interesting book. If you interest psychology then you don’t affair this subject. Because, each terms related to topology /or mathematics is defined in this book.
