⭐As a new user on SketchUp, I’m using the free on-line version. While this book does give a good basic start to using it, I find it falling short of hitting the mark for the online version. I’ve found several times I’ve looked for instructions to do a specific task, but the menus are not the same as in the book. The online menus on SketchUp are so poorly laid out that a book is needed to find the menu option to do a task. This book is little to no help for that (for online version). There are pictures of menus that do not exist on my version of the software. Best I’ve been able to do is try hovering over ever icon until I find one that looks like it might work for the task I’m attempting. If that fails, I’ve had to Google the question and hope to find it that way.

⭐I finally found a book that taught me Sketchup! This is a great book. I bought others that wasn’t worth the paper they were printed on.

⭐I needed a book that would enable me to assist students with the current version as I updated my own Sketchup skills. This book is great.

⭐Very thorough explanations. Just wish there was an updated version to deal with the geo location problem. It does the job for architectural drawing, is easy to follow and has pictures to reference to make it easier.

⭐”Getting Started” tool bar not found as illustrated, so basic navigation is off the mark in less than a dozen pages into this book. Even using SketchUp’s search for terms does not return anything for “getting started toolbar”. As a ‘dummy’ I was looking for accurate up-to-date matchup between book & current version of program

⭐Still reading but it’s what I was looking form as always great resource.

⭐I added my own table of contents with the information that I’ve been struggling without. Lots of good information that I’ve needed for a long time.

⭐This book made learning Sketch up incredibly easy. Well worth it.

⭐Personally I didn’t find this as good as I hoped. The chummy, colloquial writing style is irritating and a bit juvenile. The book tends to be organised into a series of exercises which have to be read through, which makes it frustrating to look up a specific detail when you’re in the middle of something. Overall subject coverage is pretty good, and includes full details on the still-popular Sketchup 2017. But as an instruction manual, it is too verbose where it should be succinct.

⭐I got this book to help with design of woodworking projects. While it is easy to understand, the lack of information on the processes such as joint creation and especially plane alignment let it down for me. Still, it is a useful reference book for Sketchup basics.

⭐A very good book to read on how to use sketchup sketchup is a very good diy programme

⭐A good introduction. The index doesn’t always take you where you need to be 🙂
