⭐Good essays except those about the Civil War and Dickinson as a feminist poet. Vast majority of her poems are gender neutral and the ones with a feminine character are not feminist in our contemporary sense. The poems ostensibly about the Civil War are contorted by the essayists into series of narrow interpretations of phrases – not convincing to me.
