Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐If you are looking for a book about essential, general information about how to grow plants in containers (i.e the plants that grow best, types of soil, pots, etc.) this is the BEST, and in essence the ONLY book with general information I have been able to find…and it is FULL of great, essential, useful information.Every other book basic/beginner container book I’ve purchased, thankfully all of them used, have been books that focus on the decorative aspect of combining multiple plants in containers. That was not what I was looking for at this juncture. The problem with the Kindle version is that it is really lousy to use as a reference book…it has no index and no distinction between chapter and sub-section titles/header and regular text, except that they appear as a new line, sometimes with more spacing before and after, but not always. I couldn’t even figure out how to set bookmarks. So save yourself the hassle if you intend to use this as a reference and get an actual book.
⭐I turned to this book for help with growing anything. I have killed slowly healthy houseplants I have purchased or seedlings that I THOUGHT was doing well amd then ended up dieting. This books was helpful but not thatuch for me.I need a real dummy book for growing!I dont need to know the ph levels of water and soil.and plants…not yet anyways. They was info in here that seemed like a foreign language to me.I need a book that gives me the basics..lolThis was over the top for me personally. Its full of info and im sure it helps someone but for me I need more of a dumbing down book..hahahaGreat book though!
⭐I bought a few other books for Kindle on container gardening (I wish I never bought From Container to Kitchen see my review on that book) and this one is by far the best. I am an experienced container gardener looking for some tips to increase my productivity. I picked up some great tips and cant wait to try them out. I am already planning my garden. I always had trouble keeping things alive during the hot summers here, but now I feel confident that this year will be my best yet. I skipped some of the chapters (mostly houseplants and growing herbs) that I didn’t need and still picked up great advice. I made lots of notes and even went out and bought a couple of fruit tree’s that are doing great. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to either grow edibles in containers or even just houseplants. Look for great tips on Pot sizes and fertilizing techniques. There was also information on planting in cold or hot weather and watering. It covered common diseases and how to cure them. It also covers pests and how to deal with them. It is geared more towards organic remedies and states pesticides are a last resort.
⭐Having tried for years to get a decent crop of tomatoes out of containers, I wished I had this book before I ventured into micro-gardening. Everything from vegetables to flowers are covered, including essential information on soils, potting materials, and the pots and containers as well. Save yourself a lot of effort, time spent watching garden gurus on t.v., and a ton of money by referring to this book (you might actually have a potted garden you like).
⭐INFORMATIVE, EXCELLENT INFO
⭐Good for the beginner, lots of good information
⭐Awesome book!! Very informative, which helps due to I know NOTHING about any kind of gardening!! Very excited to start my container garden.
⭐Easy to follow and explains everything well enough that a total beginner like myself can keep up.
⭐Excellent book, just what I have been looking for. I like the simplistic approach very readable and re-readable. I’m hoping by tubs and baskets will look even better next year
⭐Very clear and helpful book. The author is a recognised gardening and garden design expert , and former Editor of Sunset magazine. The book is timely and relevant.Container gardening aligns with modern urban living in more confined space.
⭐This book was okay but it did not meet my needs…I needed more of a step by step on how to grow plants indoors and this wasn’t it…gave some helpful tips but not enough for my needs…needed to know more about lighting and how much water to give each plant I want to grow indoors…so not enough information for me.
⭐There is a tones of information that I can use, the only thing needed in this book are pictures. It would make this book a bit more interesting, specially for us visual people.
