Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I bought this book for school. If you have weak hands I would hire someone to carry it for you its very heavy and hard to carry. I have only used it twice for my class. I don’t really know why I had to have it since we haven’t actually used it. If you have a class that requests this book email the professor and ask them if it will be used engouh to make it worth buying. I’m sure if you google the title of any of the chapters you could find a digital copy.

⭐This is a fairly comprehensive tome, but I prefer the paper of the previous 2nd edition. With this type of text and small print packed onto the pages, the semi-gloss surface of the paper sucks. It is reflective and any light will cast glare. So, while you’re already reading dense writing the page is literally uncooperative in most light. This paper should be reserved for picture books.

⭐I ordered this book as part of a required text for a summer class… I’ll keep reading it after class is over. It has so many good essays. If you are into literature theory, THiS is one of the best sources available out there.

⭐I used this book for my graduate course. I must say that I really like it. Sections of the book is easy to find due to the organization of the table of contents. Great book overall.

⭐This is a great way to have such a thick textbook. However, this book is missing multiple parts! I had to get this book as a requirement for a class, so I got the e-book version. I noticed that there are multiple essays in the e-book that say they are not available in the digital version. If this is to be available for purchase as an e-book, the entire book should be available. If not, then make sure to note that for the buyer. I feel I didn’t get my entire money’s worth considering the pieces missing were vital parts I needed for class that I had to get from a peer with the physical copy.

⭐Sophisticated project. Beautifully thorough. Loving it.

⭐Fabulous, “thick” book for the word-nerd and philosophy geek!

⭐Good for the course.

⭐Excellent and comprehensive book which includes a wide variety of literary theory, beginning with Russian Formalism and moving through to gender theory and post-humanism.

⭐It is a perfect book but had to buy the previous edition as well. It is a very relevant text for those studying literary criticism. Highly recommended!

⭐Immensely helpful and detailed explanation of the literary theories. The only thing that I find not helpful is that it is bulky. Its not easy to take it to read while traveling for instance.

⭐Great content. Great price if you can snag the sale. My only complaint is that the pages are slightly glossy and there’s a glare when I’m studying under fluorescent light. Also it’s really really heavy, just a warning.
