He toured five Latin American countries, collecting shoeboxes of slides he hopefully will one day sort out. Upon completion of his two-year Peace Corps tour, he attended the New York Institute of Photography in Manhattan when it was a resident school, earning a diploma in Commercial Photography. In 2004, he retired from his Digital Imaging Service Bureau and Custom Photo Finishing Lab after 15 years of owning and operating three facilities. He has authored over 25 computer books on Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Illustrator. Today, he spends his time writing and speaking nationally and internationally on Acrobat PDF and digital imaging. Don Mason is a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. He has been a professional photographer for more than three decades and works in virtually every aspect of commercial photography. Don first started using a computer in 1999, when he didn’t believe that digital imaging would ever replace his wing lynch system used for processing all his E-6 film and his darkroom where he made his own C-prints. After 4 years of intensive work in Adobe Photoshop, he abandoned his analog film lab and went completely digital. Today, he divides his time shooting professional commercial photography and printing art prints for a wide range of clients on his two, oversized Epson inkjet printers.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I would give this book ten stars if I could. Color management is something that all digital photographers need to be competent with. There is very little on the subject that is comprehensible to those that are not technically inclined. This book meets and fills that gap in an excellent and understandable manner. And it is brand new! And full of color illustrations (something new for “Dummies books”). And it is geared to Photoshop Elements 5, a program with a large following. I teach a Digital Darkroom class using Elements 5 and this book is a natural follow on for that class. It also ties in very nicely with the new Photoshop Elements 5 for Dummies book. (Also full of color illustrations). Of course if you use the full versions of Photoshop, the principals are the same but you implement them slightly different, so the book is valid for both versions. It also covers the Mac version of Photoshop Elements. All in all, a great book!

⭐I am very disappointed with Amazon’s Product Description for this book. Both book title and Product Information belies subject content. The book is meant for Photoshop Elements users, but nowhere in the product description is this mentioned. I use Photoshop CS2 and so it is non-specific for my use. For other Photoshop users not using “Elements”, the book you want apparently is “Color Correction for Digital Photographers Only” (Wiley Publishing) – according to the book I purchased.

⭐I haven’t been able to go through the entire book yet, but I do believe it will be a handy reference guide.

⭐good price for used book with this condition. It’s practically not used. It is old edition, but serves my purpose.

⭐I bought this for my husband who loves photography to make due until we can afford a color managment tool for the screen. He has loved the book and has found it very helpful. He is an computer engineer and want to know all the ins and outs of everything and he has found this book to be just the thing. The only downside is it doesn’t take into account Vista’s new color management software so if you have Vista you will have to look online for the best way to calibrate your software.

⭐I found the book Color Management For Digital Photographers For Dummies very helpful and easy to follow. Reading and following the instructions will certainly enhance my digital photography to a new level.

⭐This book has explained so many things to me that I was unaware of. I’m older, and the digital world is a new one to me. I shoot mostly landscapes, so color management is a must. This book is very well written and easily understood. Excellent!! I highly recommend!

⭐I was really impressed with the ease of understanding color management the way the author wrote this book. The pictures really showed what effect the adjustments had and just how to make the adjustments.I will recommend to friends.

⭐I was frustrated because the colours on my prints were not exactly like the colours on my iMac screen. So I bought and read Color Management for Digital Photographers for Dummies. This book helped me a lot. Also, I have 2 printers, one has a RBG color mode and the other has a CMYK color mode. This book helped me understand and deal with this difference.
