⭐***Gave too many stars by accident*** I give it 2 stars at most for sense of humor.This book is great for those who want to start running and have no idea about their level of fitness, discipline, and basic training skills. It gives fundamental explanation with a great sense of humor. The copyright date is 1986, it is outdated in regards to advancements in supplements (gels, bars, gu’s, etc), clothing & Gear (anti chaffing, interval & GPS watches, anti blister) and a variety of training techniques.It has great photos of the 80’s elite runners! The style of race shorts did not change much except for fabric. One should research many books, magazines and speak to other runners to get a full understanding of the sport.
