Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Outdated.Doesn’t teach what to do with your photo in Adobe Camera Raw. Everything that is written about ACR I guessed by myself before I got the book. But it doesn’t not provide any recipes for tricky photos, so it is useless.

⭐The Photoshop sections of this book are geared towards CS2 (I now use CS5), but there are some great tips in here for use with Camera Raw.

⭐Too bad I didn’t read more about the book. Its for CS2… I have CS6…Some sections i could follow, most i could not. It’s on the shelf.

⭐Exactly as expected. Easy reading, practical and without frills. Excellent service from Amazon. The book arrived well within expected time.

⭐The big attraction of this series of “Dummies” books is that we who buy these products are happy to accept the limitations of our own knowledge whilst placing great value on the works of those who understand the subject. If, therefore, your own expertise is well beyond beginner level, there is no point in your purchasing this product just to exercise your superiority by writing a less than praiseworthy review. It’s called showing off!I am currently in the process of converting from film to digital photography and there are certain aspects which I have found quite daunting. Altogether, I have purchased several books and tutorial DVDs on the subject as that process of conversion continues.Having already worked my way through other titles in this series (with camera in hand) I find these books speak my language and continue to provide an excellent grounding. This book starts at the beginning of the story. Raw is both explained and justified at the beginning of a section headed “Getting to know bridge, Camera Raw and Photoshop – exactly why I bought the book in the first place. Having established some of the more basic skills, Raw is then explained in much more detail just as building bricks are placed on top of building bricks to create a much greater structure. As that process continues, so we learn more and more about the subject in hand until we have mastered (and there is no reason why these skills should not be mastered from following the guidelines, advice and instructions given; Colour management, workflow, Adobe bridge, image management and much more besides.I have not previously encountered the work of author Kevin Moss, but he is clearly one who not only knows his subject but also has the ability to explain things in that easy-to-follow format in which this series of books excels.NM

⭐Digital cameras take in the picture of the scene being photographed using a CCD that produces information for each pixel. The camera then (in normal mode) takes that data and processes it to create the best possible picture according to its standard rules. It then compresses the picture and stores it in its memory. This is fine for general use.Higher end cameras, and in today’s world that means about $300, cameras can also output data in RAW format. In this format, the data comes directly from the CCD with none of the automatic processing the camera would normally do.Photoshop has a specific mode that is designed to take in raw data and allows you to process it using the full range of Photoshop capabilities. This book is by a photographer and Photoshop expert who has produced a book that is printed in full color to show just what can be done. The book is not a detailed introduction to Photoshop, but concentrates on the differences on processing Raw images.Good Introductory Book.

⭐Camera Raw with Photoshop for Dummies by Kevin L. Moss has proven to be a top book for learning about Camera Raw and Bridge from a photography prespective. I have used Camera Raw and Bridge, but was never 100% sure about what to do, workflow, etc. This book was great for walking me though the steps. Explainations weren’t overly detailed and Kevin added humor throughout, making the book an easy read.Chapters included:-Getting to Know Bridge, Camera Raw, and Photoshop-Color Management-Workflow Process-Managing Images-Color and Exposure-and more! So, if you are looking for an easy, but information filled book on where to start with Raw and Bridge, this book is for you. If you are looking for solid workflows, then you have found the right book.

⭐I took the time to read the entire book. It is meant to be used as a reference guide, but could easily be read in a day. Overall, i give it 2 stars because it gives very little information. Even in photo’s that the author changed, there was very little explination as to what and why X was done. The total meat of the book could have been written in 20 pages. The remaining 300 pages are used to repeat information, list available features in photoshop, but the author rarley explains anything that would help the “Dummy”.

⭐Excellent book, as a novice to photography editing this book is a god send, highly recommended.

⭐Having read many reviews from 2010 to 2015 nobody mentions that this book is 10 years old and quite useless, as camera raw has changed so much. My own fault really for not giving the view inside more scrutiny, as its mentioned there.

    ⭐OK

⭐Great book for the novice working with RAW files

⭐As with all the “….for dummies” manuals aimed at beginners with no experience of software. Excellent value. Use it as reference when I get stuck.
