Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐The problem with this book is that it only gives one example for any of the commands or code that you will be using. They are almost all ways math related, so if you want to use this in say a Charlene for a game your out of luck. Then the writers have skipped parts of the code to save paper! Seriously! This book is designed for those who have no idea what they are doing and they are skipping valuable parts! Another problem this book has is that it tells you things at the wrong time! For example you can create “regions” in c#. These allow you to categorize parts of your code, and remove them from the screen. The problem is that they tell you this on the very first page, before you have written one line of code. If you’re heart is set out on getting this then buy the hardcover so you can at least return it.

⭐I don’t know if that is just temporary, but at the time I purchased this book, The website the book references to go and download all the source codes is unavailable. I know it isn’t the proper way to use the review system, but I would like to warn people to check csharpfordummies.net before purchasing. If it’s up, fine. If it’s not, be warned you will have to type everything word for word. Also, if there’s something that has changed between now and the time this book was published, please let me know so I can go use the book properly. I had the same problem with a C++ for dummies ebook, and would prefer to do at least one of these programming language tutorials properly. Also, if you’re as ignorant as I am, be warned that Visual Studio is EXPENSIVE!!! I would have had no problem buying it if it were only like $30 for a simple license, but the cheapest I’ve seen anywhere was $50, and even that was a 50% off deal on a 2010 version of the software for download on another site! The book points out Mono. Anyone with no budget (like me) should use Mono for your IDE and get a free trial of Visual Studio when you’re ready to do the book that focuses on that program.Other than that, I have no reason so far to be dissatisfied with the book. Haven’t jumped into the language yet, but I learned a lot about what it’s used for. I think this will be another interesting adventure, as with every other programming language I’ve tried to learn.

⭐I have been taking classes for C# programming and this book is laid out better than the courses I was taking. It clearly explains and gives example programs to write yourself, to help understand the inner workings of writing a C# program. It is a must have companion for anyone interested in or taking classes in C# development.

⭐The C# 2010 All-in-one for Dummies is an excellent read. I have purchased a number of “Dummies” books on various subjects and found them all to be anything but dum. They are exceptionally well written, clear, and thus easy to understand. The title is catchy, but deceiving for someone who has not read a dummies book before. They are written for intellegent, common sense, people who want to learn about a subject from an author who knows his subject well, and can communicate it in a clear, understandable way. I already know how to program but did not know C# and needed to learn it. This book does a very good job. I recomend it highly.

    ⭐Thank you.

⭐I was completely disappointed in this book. Unlike many other for Dummies books I have purchased in the past it is not well written, it is unclear, it is at best a very broad overview that does not explain any one topic in detail. The examples are also unclear and I could not even use this book as a reference let alone a complete explanation of the topic.

⭐I am an engineering student without much programming experience; nevertheless with only 50% of the book finished, I am already able to write program to plot diagrams and fetch information from the internet. It’s really useful!

⭐arrived quicker than I expected and is as helpful as I’ve come to expect from the ‘For Dummies’ product line

⭐This review is pretty similar to my other reviews of books I bought as part of the required reading lost for my undergraduate course. They are fine for complete beginners and do provide useful information. But as a physical object they become outdated and are simply much slower and inconvenient when it comes to looking up answers.

⭐I’ve always had a liking for the “dummies” books on programming and this is no exception.Clear, concise, easy to read and even easier to understand, it takes the mystery away from concepts that would otherwise be impenetrable to a newbie. If you want to learn what real programming is about, and whether you could succeed at it, this is a bloody good starting point.

⭐The book was Ok, no where near as good as the VB.Net for dummies. This book is really for beginners but they will out grow it quickly. Print was a disapointment. A lot of the book is done in a lighter font to show coding. Needs to be darker hard to read – an I have good eyesight.Had I have found the book in a shop I probably would not have bought it.

    ⭐Nice big book

⭐This is another easy to follow book for beginners to intermediate programmers it starts off with the basics of c# programming and helps you build a solid structure for your own software needs!
