⭐I have owned this book since.,, well the 1980’s, and is still on of my favorites.This book is dated by its methods and the material is not taught this way anymore. But it is still worthwhile.What really seperates this book is that it is designed to be used for self-study and as a textbook. The author’s presentation of the subject matter is complete and approachable to even the most math adverse student.Every chapter the author methodically builds from a basic foundation. Rigor is not compromised and the author provides extensive proofs, but also provides a ton of both simple to harder examples to instruct the student. There are a ton problems for the student ot practise.The chapter on complex numbers, which is presented over 20+ pages, is worth owning this book alone.For an out date book this is superior over any other text I have seen on theory of equations.
