⭐I had updated to snow leopard a few years ago. I had the earlier versionMac os X leopard for dummies. I wanted to see the differences. I also wanted my wife to quit using our PC and start using my Mac.It was worth the cost of my curiosity. I cannot upgrade my Mac any further. So I have everything I need. We both share the Mac and it has been great for her. So another conversion was made for Apple. Our PC is not on line. This was due to the IE scare. So my wife finally conceded to use it and found it was better.

⭐you can’t use it for reference because he tells you a little about something ,when say I’ll tell you more about in a different chapter .I didn’t like that because I want to read about how to do certain things ,not the whole book.It is very easy to understand for people who aren’t really good on computers ,like me.Also I got the kindle book and there’s no index on the kindle book,so it’s hard to look up the stuff .

⭐Since I am new to Snow Leopard, iLife 9 and iWork, I decided on the 8-in-1 manual rather than 3 separate manuals. Because of this, I have lost depth in each topic. When I want more detail, I go to […] or the Help menus on the computer. I would still recommend this book because it gives a broad overview of many topics.

⭐I like the Dummies Books. However this one is a hard read, the chapters seem to wander & I will stay away from this author in the future. there is another “Snow Leopard for Dummies” ( different author ) which is much better. I get it from the local library. DeVitus,Bob is author of that one

⭐Bought this for my brother who had never used a computer before. He is happy I sent this to him, the book is easy to read and follow. We tried to find at the local bookstore but I had better luck on Amazon and also was at a good price.

⭐GOOD INFORMATION

⭐The beginning chapters share several hints about the product that is very helpful. I haven’t had very much time to read this book, but from what I have read I have enjoyed and use the tips.

⭐Snow Leopard is Apple’s latest incarnation of the OS X (pronounced OS ’10’) operating system for their Intel-based Macintosh computers. Snow Leopard, or OS 10.6.x, is relatively new and there are relatively few authoritative books written about this new O/S, although that deficiency is rapidly changing.I have a great fondness for the Dummies series of books and I have a large collection of them, including those relating to the earlier versions of Apple’s O/S, namely: Panther, Tiger and Leopard.Snow Leopard is not vastly different in its operation from its immediate predecessor, Leopard, however, large parts of the O/S, notably the Finder, have been rewritten so that it operates much faster. Furthermore, the O/S is more space efficient and is at least 10 Gigabytes smaller in overall size. It starts up and shuts down much faster and feels appreciably quicker when running applications, most notably the larger and more complex applications like Photoshop. Apple has also taken the opportunity to remove dozens of bugs and correct a great many operational eccentricities. It is by far the most stable and reliable version of the O/S to date.Few books address the many changes incorporated in the new O/S but ‘Mac OS X Snow Leopard, All-in-One, for Dummies’, is one of them. Once again it provides information, help and advice in the now familiar jokey style which is the hallmark of the Dummies series. But despite the reference to ‘dummies’ this is a highly detailed book which will grace the bookshelves of computer novices as well as many advanced users. This is not a book to be read from beginning to end because it has over 700 pages. It is more of a reference book to be dipped into as and when the need arises.In it you will find information concerning how to use iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, Garageband, iTunes and iWeb as well as iWork which is not strictly part of OS X. There is also an extensive section on troubleshooting and an introduction to UNIX, the programming language upon which the O/S is based. For a more detailed understanding of UNIX, the Dummies series includes a book specifically concerning UNIX.The popularity and relentless growth in domestic wireless broadband is also catered for in this book which is why it deserves its qualifying ‘All-in-One’ description.

⭐I bought this book because I have always had good experiences with the “For Dummies” series as very useful rapid reference works that did not assume prior knowledge. I had need of a rapid introduction to Mac OSX in the form of Snow Leopard. What I got instead of the usual mixture of good humour, well structured advice and information was a fanboi tract. Oh and no I am not having a pop at Mac owners in using that expression – I find fanbois of all denominations unbelievably irritating and this author is no exception. If you are prepared to put up with a book that is larded with constant remarks directed against “A Certain Other Famous Operating System” then by all means, buy this book. Others, like me, may find the book so irritating as to border on the unreadable.

⭐This is a book for the USA and that is where it came from so i would think it okay for those who live in the USA and use Appleproducts, as America has different Jargon for there computers, so not easy for UK readers otherwise just fine!
