Description

This book covers the advanced mathematical techniques useful for physics and engineering students, presented in a form accessible to physics students, avoiding precise mathematical jargon and laborious proofs. Instead, all proofs are given in a simplified form that is clear and convincing for a physicist. Examples, where appropriate, are given from physics contexts. Both solved and unsolved problems are provided in each chapter.Mathematics for Natural Scientists II: Advanced Methods is the second of two volumes. It follows the first volume on Fundamentals and Basics.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Professor Kantorovich was my tutor at King’s College London. I’ve recently graduated and bought the book to review some aspects of maths before pursuing my masters. The book is just great. It covers pretty much all topics of 2nd and 3rd year math and math for theoretical physics modules, and the worked examples involve very broad applications, mostly related to condensed matter physics. I definitely recommend it to anyone on an undergraduate course in natural sciences, especially if you want to go a step beyond the content covered in lecture. The book contains very detailed proofs, and covers contents that are generally just shown “on the surface” in undergraduate courses.

⭐Excellent book for second year physicists, topics covered are very standard and core to most courses.
