⭐Peter Brooks has provided the reader with an outstanding reflection on the issue of Identity. He draws together numerous threads, the reader moved seamlessly from Fielding’s Tom Jones to the American courthouse.Many sections in the book are wonderfully argued, I was particularly interested in Brooks use of Freud and his ideas around masturbation (in fiction). Having recently seen Dermot Bolger’s adaptation of Ulysses I can say his theory rings true.A must for anyone interested in Identity theory.
