Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐I write this only to contradict the bad reviews made by people who have no idea of what they are speaking. This is a very inteligent and original book, where ideas are developed, though incompletely and not always with success. It remains under the main books in the philosophy of language. The kind of philosophical approach of John Searle has been overshadow by the kind of “ideal language philosophy” that after Kripke turned mainstream in the American philosophy. However, modes come and go, and I guess that this book will remain readable after the present mainstream goes out of the stage,
⭐Hard for me to follow……. but the genesis of very important works on the nuance and power of language
⭐I mean, duh.
⭐but, seriously, duh!
⭐A dive into the B theory of language and Searle has one neat theory. What to expect: Illocutionary acts, rules, intentions and conventions. It is definitely worth reading even if you are a hardcore A theorist.
⭐SATISFACTORY
⭐Excelente libro. Una obra clásica en la filosofía contemporánea. Recomendable 100%.trouvé ce que j’ttendais, bon livre dans la moyenne pour lire dans la train ou sur la plage opu le soir avant de s’endormir.
