Descartes: A Guide for the Perplexed is a clear and thorough account of descartes’ philosophy, his major works and ideas, providing an ideal guide to the important and complex thought of this key philosopher. The book covers the whole range of Descartes’ philosophical work, offering a thematic review of his thought, together with detailed examination of the texts commonly encountered by students, including the Discourse on Method and Meditations on First Philosophy. This book provides a cogent and reliable survey of the philosophical trends and influences apparent in Descartes’ thought.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐For a novice in the explorations in philosophy, I strongly advise getting a book of this type, the accompanying guide which explains the work. There is too much in the context of the time when these works were originally written that we do not know and cannot easily “pick-up” from the text. Even if Descartes at times sounds accessible, I found that I missed a significant point in the text way too often. Recommended.
