The book describes Fluid Dynamics, Magnetohydrodynamics, and Classical Thermodynamics as branches of Lagrange’s Analytical Mechanics. The approach presented is markedly different from the treatment given to them in traditional text books. A Hamilton-Type Variational Principle as the proper mathematical technique for the theoretical description of the dynamic state of any fluid is formulated. The scheme is completed proposing a new group of variations regarding the evolution parameter.

Editorial Reviews: About the Author Angel Fierros Palacios was born in March 1933 in Pochutla, Oaxaca, México. He studied Physics at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México (UNAM), where he also obtained a Master degree and Ph. D. in Science. For many years he was Professor at the UNAM and a researcher at the Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo and at the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares. He also worked at different areas of the public administration such as the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, the Secre-taría de Energía, as well as the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). He is the author of the project which originated the Instituto de Investiga-ciones Eléctricas (IIE) and also, he was General Director of the Museo Tecnológico de la CFE. Presently he is working at the IIE as Director de la División de Energías Alternas.

⭐Classical Fluid-related Continuum Dynamics IS NOW *analytically-closed*. When I first studied this general topic ~ an heuristic [ad hoc] equation [such as a *guesstimated* scalar equation of mass-density] was usually ADDED to the four ones available to MAKE the set of fluid dynamical coupled PDEs be *semi-closed* ~ via having five of them to match the five variables of a typical fluid. The more honest presenters of such theory admitted that it WAS merely *semi-closed* [and therefore NOT really *analytical theory* ~ but just a *math model* that *mostly worked*]. Angel Fierros Palacios [fairly unknown among the English-fluent scientific world] ~ has accomplished an amazing ideal physical mathematics feat ~ making all fluid dynamics truly analytically *closed* via extended Lagrange-Hamilton continuum dynamics via newly extended variational calculus ~ for a set of five coupled PDEs with five variables ~ and applying this new analytical dynamics to a wide spectrum of physical fluids ~ from earthly waters to star plasmas +++
