⭐ Man, this series just keeps getting better! With each new book that comes out I am always a little fearful that this’ll be the one where it loses its steam but every time I am left wanting the next installment! This latest book was no exception, in fact I think this particular installment was one of the strongest ones to date in the series. To me it really felt like old school Shade, back in the Derek/Sofia days. There’s been a lot of story threads going on in the last few books, some major and some minor but this book mainly focused on Caleb and Rose’s journey to try to get back to the Shade and all of the danger that it entailed. I liked that this was the main focus of the book, it allowed us time to see their relationship grow and I really loved seeing them together. Of course there was a twist or two thrown in at the end there with them, just to keep things interesting!I also liked that this whole book took place within the “human realm”, it was interesting seeing these supernatural beings having to deal with real life dangers and threats. The situations they found themselves in were edgier and scarier than we’re used to, but I liked that she switched it up a bit here. I found it quite suspenseful and I couldn’t flip the page fast enough to find out what happened next! Of course there was the usual supernatural threats to contend with too, and the plot definitely thickened in that regard! I really can’t want to see what’s in store next with that storyline.While this book really focused on Caleb and Rose, there were plenty of developments and updates on all of the secondary characters and we were introduced to several new characters that are sure to factor in largely as the series progresses. Big changes for Ben, Vivienne and Xavier and it seems changes could be coming for Aiden, Claudia and Yuri as well. Time will tell! All I know is that I’ll definitely be there to find out, I’ve already pre-ordered the next installment!

⭐ Excellent read. Just when you think Rose will make it back to the Shade with Caleb, Annora resurfaces and now the dam Sanctuary wants Mona back. What will happen to the Shade? Those dam black witches. They need their comeuppance NOW! Can’t wait for the next story. Will Rose get to keep her Caleb or will he succumb to the old Annora.

⭐ I thought the last 2 books in this series (10 & 11) were the best in a long time. I was completely entertained and hated when I had to stop reading. Can’t wait to see what happens between Caleb, Rose and Annora (hope I spelled that correctly).My only complaint is that books are now too short. We get half the book we used to get at the same price. $3.99 a pop for a 2 hour read is outrageous. Books used to be 500-600 pages for $3.99.Price should be decreased.

⭐ I love this series but this one was definitely my least favorite so far. There was a whole lot more real world than supernatural world. It just didn’t have the same feel as the series has had so far. I did like it a lot. Just didn’t feel like the Shade series. It was a bit outlandish. I wanted to read about what was going on with more than just Rose and Caleb. Which is pretty hypocritical of me because before this book I was frustrated that there wasn’t MORE of Rose and Caleb. Always gotta have an excuse to complain! Good book though.

⭐ I love the thrill all the way throughout the book. It makes one want to read more and more books.

⭐ Whew. This one kept me on the edge of my seat. Action packed and non-stop excitement! And let me just say, I love Xavier.Caleb lovers rejoice! If he hasn’t won you over in the other books, he will steal your heart in this one! Protective, strong, sweet, a man’s man (okay, a woman’s vampire) . . . he is completely drool worthy in this installment.Rose . . . ahhhh, Rose. Will she EVER be able to stay out of trouble? She definitely exhibits parts of her mother’s personality! But we get to see Rose show some real strength in this book, and you’ll find yourself rooting for her to successfully win the heart of the man she loves.Oh, yeah. And I love Xavier.And who would have expected a certain “victim” to end up being such a big help!? Who doesn’t like a “hairy hero”??Rhys . . . the man I love to hate . . . and the man who makes Kiev look like an angel. This man completely irks me. Makes me want to reach through the book and slap him silly – repeatedly. Seriously . . . he is evil incarnate.Ben becomes even more like his father than he already is in this installment . . . (can you guess what that means???) Major decisions must be made – no matter how old you are.Mona will have to face parts of her past that come back to haunt her . . . parts that might tear apart people that she loves.I love Xavier – did I say that already? Two of our favorite characters decide to venture into a completely NEW kind of life . . . one that I can’t WAIT to hear about in future books (notice I said books in pleural form . . . that’s a hint, Bella).We meet some new characters that make you cringe. Some that make you want to scream at the characters to “RUN! JUST GET AWAY FROM THEM!” (even though you KNOW Bella’s storylines are never THAT easy).The Shade continues to have plenty of intrigue, love, mystery, darkness, light . . . all the things that give us a WONDERFUL storyline. I can’t wait to see where we go from here!

⭐ i love this series so i will probably be bias i enjoyed the story so much and cant wait to read the next…in this it is about caleb saving rose basically however the end is the white witches needing a dark witch ….with the change of ben the only down side is that rose didnt get home yet and we dont know what ben is going to turn into with all that said the book is still awesome and cant wait to read the next book to see where the story continues

⭐ I finally finished this book. I wish I could say I enjoyed it as much as I had books 1-9. Although there were parts of this book that I loved, the Rose/Caleb being returned to the Shade not happening in 2 books has left me less than satisfied. If book 12 isn’t different than 11, I may have to give up on the Shade, which I really don’t want to do.

⭐ I want more…Was disappointed when the story ended like it did. I will say it again, the stories need to be longer.

⭐ These last two books (10&11) remind me of how fantastic the first few books of the series were. I’m so wrapped up in Rose and Caleb’s story… I almost want to skip the chapters by Sofia and Derek. So good. Can’t wait to read the next one! I can’t believe I’ve spent almost $50 on this series, but I can’t help it!! It’s so good!
