Description

When one man decides to send a message to the government by bombing a federal building, the explosion is felt all across the United States. The chain reaction that follows resonates most powerfully with members of a rebel band in Idaho who call themselves “Patriots.” They want freedom from government control, no matter how much deadly force it takes.

Thrown into the battle is Lieutenant Nathan Dixon, who is sent to quell a potentially dangerous situation. He’ll need every bit of his training, as Idaho’s charismatic governor, George Oliver “GO” Thomas, unleashes an agenda all his own, and one that will truly have an effect on the whole country. In this modern military thriller, New York Times bestselling author Harold Coyle gives us an intimate portrait of the men and women who fight to uphold their different visions of America against all enemies.

User’s Reviews

Review “Harold Coyle is the best natural storyteller I know.”-Tom Clancy”Nobody knows war like Harold Coyle, and nobody writes it better.”-Stephen Coonts”[Coyle’s] military knowledge is first-rate, and when the action kicks in it makes his ‘what if’ scenario all the more gripping and unsettling.”–Publishers Weekly “An intelligently crafted and suspenseful story with plenty of action on every page.”–Booklist

Reviews from Amazon users, collected at the time the book is getting published on UniedVRG. It can be related to shiping or paper quality instead of the book content:

⭐ Just reread this techno thriller I read in hardback as a boy in Kindle format on 12/2020. Seems almost timely with all this uproar over the Presidential election… and more political unrest in Idaho. Just hope this doomsday scenario does not come to life.

⭐ This was a great read up with the times. A few misconceptions about what the constitution says versus court interpretations as yet unchallenged by the coequal legislative branch. I really enjoyed another of Harold’s books.

⭐ Harold Coyle was once a very good writer. However, if you’re looking for another Team Yankee or The Ten Thousand, you’re going to be greatly disappointed. This book is nothing more than a narrow minded, bitter soapbox of a man who has spent way too much time watching and buying into what’s shown on the evening news.

⭐ I have always liked the authors books, but since the end of the cold war it seems the plots have been getting more manufactured and lack believability. This novel is the worst example so far of this tendancy. The idea of the Idaho National Guard taking on the regular army is ludicrous. Dispite these issues there are a number of well written action scenes.

⭐ Great read for conspiracy folks!

⭐ Ditto an earlier review. Coyle always a good read

⭐ The best military author I have ever read, now is recycling ideas promoted in other stories into this book. Original ideas are lacking throughout. His fear that the Civil War books would hurt him was proven unfounded. . It didn’t– the last two books have.

⭐ A very intriguing look at both sides of the beginning of a civil war and a chilling thought of just how close we might actually be to it for real.

⭐ I enjoy all of Harold Coyles books.

⭐ Drawn out, too many pages of useless dialog going nowhere.
