⭐I’d give this book a 0 if I couldThis book is horrible and nobody should buy it. Anyone who buys this for their kids should be wondering if their kids read it as if they did they should be VERY confused if they did. I have a BS and MS in computer science and some PhD work, and bought it as although I some simple algebra commonly, I have forgotten much of the topics I learned 25 year ago that I don’t use day to day and wanted to brush up so I could start brushing back up on calculus.When reading this book I started getting very confused as some (many) of the examples did not seem to reflect what the author was trying to write, and they made no sense and actually were WRONG.This seems to be because the typesetting is often not correct andrather than have something like 2 to the power of x they will write 2x. Unfortunately 2x is NOT 2 to the power x; it’s 2 multiplied by x which is VERY VERY different than 2x. for example 5 to the power 2 (or 5^2) = 25; where as 5 times 2 (or 5 x 2) = 10.I spent more time being confused in the first 2 chapter of what the author was trying to say, and that is for concepts I ALREADY understand and remember well. I don’t even know how one could possibly read this book and understand concepts that were new to them or that they were trying to learn/relearn if the text is so incorrect.even worse is the errors are inconsistent. on one line the typesetting is CORRECT, and on the next line it might be wrong making it basically impossible to follow unless you already know what is correct.I usually don’t say bad things, but this book is horrible due to this reason. and I really would like to get my money back.While writing is hard and nobody is expected to be perfect, the sheer volume of errors is completely unacceptable. It as if nobody actually proofread the finished product. (I’m sure the author wrote correctly, but whoever converted it to the print product clearly was not consistent in typesetting) and that makes it really a useless book since if you read the incorrect examples as they are written it’s literally saying incorrect things.)

⭐Nice little book. That said, explains topics in a basic way, which it should do, however, no practice problems. A little short in information. And, doesn’t follow the Algebra 1 workbook or Algebra 1 1001 practice problems format. If you are considering buying this book, buy the Algebra 1 workbook instead as it has much more information and practice problems with it, plus, it follows the Algebra 1 1001 Practice Problems book format exactly.

⭐This book did not provide formulas and how to steps like I have experienced with other books. My son had to teach himself 8th grade math this summer to get in an advanced class. I have used “books for dummies” previously with great success. As I don’t use advanced math daily, I need examples. This wasn’t the full book of how to & practice questions I expected. It is useless. We survived without using it. After skimming through it once, I was immediately disappointed in my waste of money.

⭐This book was NOT a helpful resource for algebra classes! Please don’t buy it! It’s a waste of your money!

⭐My son needed to brush up on his math so he got this to help. He is still working on it. It’s helping to bring back alot of what he didn’t know that he had forgotten.

⭐It clarifies the problems and how to solve them in a way my grandkids can understand

⭐No worksheets or problems in the book, it literally just shows you how to do problems, but there no way to test if you have actually understood it or not.

⭐The rendering for the digital version does not always present exponents in superscript. So 2 to the 10th power reads as 210. This can be very confusing. If you are attempting to learn algebra, or refresh your memory of algebra, the material can already be confusing enough. Mistakes like this in a book that is trying to teach math are not acceptable. I wish I could return it and get my money back.

⭐Having not touched Algebra for about 35 years, I needed to brush up. This did the job. But I’d also say that it would be ideal for anyone learning it for the first time.

⭐Not a great book. Just has some examples and working out. Not much help at all. Would not recommend.

⭐Recipient not motivated enough to read it yet. Still complex to read.

⭐Not a textbook, more of a reference.

⭐I got what i needed from it for my studies but I do need more to further so it’s good for the start of maths in college. It came on time so I was able to use it when needed.
