⭐Okay, it’s by someone you’ve never heard of, but still…. This was the first book I ever read about linguistics. Until I read this, I thought I was the only weirdo in the world who thought about language a lot. After reading this, I took my first course in linguistics, which lead to me dropping my premed major and getting a graduate degree in linguistics. Fifteen years later, I am happily employed in natural language processing.But, you probably wanted to hear about the book, not me. It’s utterly charming, not theoretically fashionable, and fun to read.And there you have it.
⭐Todos los libros de Mario Pei son excelentes. Es una pena que no se hayan reeditado recientemente. No es fácil encontrarlos.
