    Description

The Sixth Edition of An Introduction to Formal Languages and Automata provides an accessible, student-friendly presentation of all material essential to an introductory Theory of Computation course. Written to address the fundamentals of formal languages, automata, and computability, the text is designed to familiarize students with the foundations and principles of computer science and to strengthen the students’ ability to carry out formal and rigorous mathematical arguments. The author, Peter Linz, continues to offer a straightforward, uncomplicated treatment of formal languages and automata and avoids excessive mathematical detail so that students may focus on and understand the underlying principles.

    User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐At first I had debuts about just another required school book but this one was actually better than most lectures I watched. The book’s examples are actually followable and you can walk though examples to understand different algorithms (DFA, NFA, PDAs, TM).

⭐It is difficult, but useful. I had got a lot of problems in subject of FLnA, but now I can solve exercises alone too. What I dislike? Nothing, This book is good as it was written in the “Big Brother” ‘s book. I like this book, because it has got an other aspect than our book in Hungary. It is super.

⭐Needed this text book for an engineering graduate class. It’s old but had some good information.

⭐A little be old, and have some notes inside! But I think it’s ok

⭐I rented this textbook for my 4000 level Advanced Discrete course. The book is horrible and littered with errors. The topics are poorly expanded on and sometimes assume prior knowledge not covered in the book.Exercises in edition 6 are just minor modifications and additions on edition 5, but the solutions don’t always seem congruent with the exercises. My instructor has found errors in both the exercises and solutions.

    ⭐Bought this book for college

    ⭐Excellent!

    ⭐Good!

⭐This is the Best Book available for Theory of Computation, and it is recommended by most of the top professors. If you are preparing for the GATE exam or your semester exams go for it without a 2nd thought, as you will never find such an amazing book like or better than this one, just read this book along with by watching YouTube videos you will understand it better. The quality of this book is excellent moreover the paper quality is at its BEST it’s like the book has directly been delivered right form publisher without any 2nd hand, received this product in an excellent condition without any wear and tear not even a single scratch.Amazon delivery is awesome, packaging is also excellent I have never received any products from Amazon with such an excellent packaging.

⭐This book is by far the best for Automata Theory, and secondly if you are preparing for Gate Exam, then in my opinion everyone should stick to this book. And I’m thankful to the seller, as they sent me the right book and right edition which was shown in the description.Secondly this book is as new as freshly printed book, with only little markings in content section, otherwise I didn’t find any marking or dirty pages.

⭐A great book from the Author Peter Linz to study theory of computation (formal language and automata theory). This book is also very useful if you are preparing for the GATE, semester exams or any other exam. The paper of the book quality is also excellent.

⭐This is perfect material if you are looking for introduction to intermediate to advanced theory of computing. I have used 3rd edition of this book before which i really liked. Newer edition gives more coverage to grammars. While Sipser is good, i prefer the hands on approach and logical explanation as well as the exercises at the end of each work section.Recommend if you are looking for a perfect book in this subject area.

⭐As the title of the review, I have purchased the book from PICK_A_BOOK store. The book looks almost new, but would like to confirm whether the book has hologram or not.As most of the book I have received from amazon had hologram either on their back cover or front cover. But this book doesn’t have. Will update the rating as when I will receive message from the publisher.
