User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This is a superb book for anyone who has sensed that there is more than meets the eye in this world. Even if you do not completely grasp the concepts that are presented, it is still a well written book. This is the type of book that you read a page or two and then you have to sit back and ponder what you have just read. You may even have to read a chapter over again, but you won’t mind because the concepts are so wonderful you can’t help but think about them all the time.

⭐Another winner from Michael Talbot. To bad he died young.

⭐I had the other one of his books it lead me to buy and read this one too & it is great science INFO he explains it great!

⭐I am a big fan of the late Michael Talbot and I have all three of his books. He was looking for ways to explain his poltergeist experiences through physics and he had very good theories. The culmination of his books is The Holographic Universe. Read all three of his books if you can.

⭐One of the best books I have ever read! Of course it will be labeled as “pseudoscience” by those who cannot think outside of the box. When the author comes to the part where he mentions his own experience I was thought “Jeez, here we go…” but it was a wonderful new perspective on… well… everything!

⭐It really stirred my inquisitive instinct. I could feel the synapses making new connections. Much to think about and explore. Michael Talbot’s books always intrigue and incite further exploration of this fascinating subject. No matter which theory you believe in, you will find much to ponder here.

⭐Although dated, the information is still relevant. I read this to gain understanding of the author’s point of view, Unfortunately he died some years ago.

⭐Used for research.

⭐I had an unread copy of this book eighteen years ago which I lost on my travels. I was extremely pleased to find it avilable at Amazon. The starting point of the book is the strange, anamolous behaviour of light “particles” called quanta. The thing about light is that it sometimes behaves as a particle and sometimes as a wave, a quantum is a wave/particle or a quantity of wave energy. According to Talbot, Einstein believed in the particle nature of light, but scientists today still cannot explain fully the mechanics of light as its qualities depend on “observer participation”. The apparatus that scientists use determine the characteristics that they observe, and there is no medium in the view of contemorary science through which the quanta from distant galaxies oscillate.Talbot has a highly mystical cast of mind due to his experiences with a poltergeist as a child. There is much interesting thought in the book about the nature of consciousness and awareness. The author takes a holistic approach stressing communication between the parts which make up a greater whole, he is always looking for Gestalts, anomolous evidence and relationships. Talbot moves constantly from the microscopic to the cosmic, including speculations about Rupert Sheldrake’s “M field”, the mysterious force that causes living organisms to “know” what shape to take up, and thoughts regarding the “group minds” possessed by termites and bees. He includes quite an extensive account of “functionalism” the theory that information is the primary essence of life and the universe. Talbot concludes that self awareness is spread throughout the universe, and even that sub- atomic particles seem able to communicate. The universe as a whole is a living entity, created by observer- participants throughout billions of years. The book is filled with many stimulating “thought experiments”, which physicists use to develop hypotheses without the need for apparatus.I would highly recommend this book to all A level physics students, it certainly opens the mind to things that aren’t on the syllabus.

⭐Written for the layman this is one of a series of books by Talbot dealing with Quantum Physics, Conciousness and how they are connected. All the books are fascinating and this a good place to start but The Holographic Universe is perhaps the mind-blower but this has a wider perspective and might be better for someone interested in Physics to start.

⭐Michael Talbot was a tour de force as a writer on the new physics and spirituality. Huge loss at his early death in 1990s. This is unique, fantastically well written and fascinating stuff for anyone with an enquiring mind.

⭐A quite amazing book and a ‘must buy’ for all seekers of the secrets of the mysterious and connections between nuclear physics and reality

⭐Excellent
