⭐Kip S, Thorne just got the Nobel prize for work he talks about in this book.I really like the string theory black holes in Gary T. Horowitz’s article.When I first read it ,I didn’t have software or understanding to deal with many of the ideas.The current observation of black hole mergers and neutron stars coming together by Thorne’sLigo and Virgo makes this book an instant classic. The connection of black holes to information theoryis still an ongoing problem in entropy theory ( in the Steven Hawking article).How can black holes from which no radiation escapes be observed by gravitational waves they emit?This material isn’t easy, but is fundamental to understand where modern gravitational theory is coming from.
