Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Teaching a non-accountant how to run the business books is no small task and can take months to cultivate a basic understanding. Book keeping for dummies provided good basic accounting skills, the strange language, and not-to-do’s content that I would expect. I have used it many times trying to navigate Sage Complete Peachtree. However, there are still some accounting nuances that really need more detail in these books, like company credit cards liability and the whole chart of accounts vendor stuff so the dollars goes into the right bucket. Basically tell me which bucket to put the bucks into! Still, I would recommend for anyone facing the same problem when starting from an empty shell.
⭐Quite a few errors in this book….
⭐Very good review of bean counting.
⭐I love this book can’t say enough about it . I had bookkeeping1 & 11 in college I am somewhat comfortable with it; however this book put the icing on the cake.I highly recommend this book for anyone who understands accounting.
⭐Lot’s of advice about running your business with little help navigating the day to day elements of book keeping. Parts of the book seem to be cut and pasted from other parts with lots of unhelpful repetition.
⭐Great crash course – prepared me for a brand new experience!
⭐I am a Business Manager and I have read this book myself. I think it is an essential guide for anyone who is apart of a bookkeeping staff. It is a really good book that has the basics of accounting principals, but offers more information on supporting Accountants or Accounting Pros. I have given this book to others who are in Accounts Payable or Receivable positions or those who may want to understand their own personal financials. I highlighted throughout the book. Sometimes you forget the foundation to accounting and finance is bookkeeping. I found it to be a nice refresher/reminder. Worth the $$$
⭐Simple review of bookkeeping system for small business. You don’t need to be an accountant to understandthe system but you do need to be acquainted with business forms. Good overview of uncomplicated bookkeeping system.
⭐I actually found this quite hard to read and follow, some of the sections and layout seem to be very bitty and could have done with being in the same chapter rather than spread out. The terms were slightly different than my course work so had to make notes in the book, it also didn’t cover important things as substantially as i needed them to be or maybe as clearly and concisely as i needed them to be. I am a slow learner when it comes to anything maths related, so it’s possibly just my brain refusing to cooperate. It was ok as a sanity check when my coursework confused me but most of the time it was too complicated for me to follow. 🙁 I’m obviously a thickie, not a dummie (and no that’s not misspelled, I’m Aberdonian).
⭐I bought this book with a view to becoming a bookkeeper (and I was considering buying a course on it). This book totally turned me off the idea as I found it confusing and not very well explained. The information was tightly packed in and they try and explain things briefly, but I just felt confused and totally thick!!I ended up buying a home study bookkeeping course which I find fantastic and realise that I am not thick at all!! I just dont think something like bookkeeping can be explained quickly to the beginner.I think the book has everything in it, but just too complex if you are just trying to learn the basics.
⭐I bought it when I was drunk and thought it said ‘Bee keeping’.
⭐Basic and to the point, easy to apply and understand.
⭐much too much information for a basic book.
