There is a Brazilian version and European Portuguese version of the Student Activities Manual. The organization of the Student Activities Manual follows that of the main text, providing further practice of each chapter’s vocabulary and grammatical structures through sentence-building and completion exercises, fill-ins, and art- and realia-cued activities. Reading and writing activities include strategies for improving reading and writing skills. The audio recorded passages are followed by comprehension-check activities. The video based activities test students’ comprehension of the video and invite them to react to the experiences and opinions expressed by the speakers. A substantial appendix to both SAMs provides additional targeted practice for Spanish-speaking learners of Portuguese.

⭐I would give the book itself, and the activities a 5 star rating. I like the layout, and it pairs well with the book, and listening exercises. find that the option to do Potugal Portuguese or Brazilian Portuguese very fun. I also like how you have plenty of options and exercises to cover any topic in the book. The numbering of the activities and the pages can be confusing, but you get used to it soon. I would recommend doing the activities while learning something in the book and listening to the audio tape. I think that way, it really cements itself in. The only complaint I have was from the seller, I bought the book from. I ordered the textbook brand new, and received a used book with pen markings and completed exercises up to the second chapter, including some of the second chapter. Other than that, it is a good book.

⭐Purchased this with a dictionary for my portuguese class and it was fantastic although we didn’t use it much. I still have it and work on it to practice my portuguese. I love it! easy to understand.

⭐I like this book when it was used in class. It has a lot of great examples and the link to do the hearing exercises was nice.

⭐Unfortunately the class was cancelled and, therefore, the book was returned. The manual would have been a very good tool to further support learning the language.

⭐I bought this for a class then dropped it. I sold them to a friend though and they worked great with her class. The book came in perfect condition and had no writing, dog ears, or highlights.

⭐This book provides a great foundation for the Portuguese language.
