Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Clear explanations and illustrations to a complicated subject. Would definitely recommend this textbook to anyone studying the subject. Seller (Benefit Books & Discs) was also excellent; book came earlier than expected and in almost new condition.

⭐I am self-teaching myself calculus and had struggled to find a book to this point that would help me gain the intuition of the subject I’d been looking for. This book ties together geometric and analytic explanations of the subject in a way that really helps me gain a deeper understanding compared to past books I have tried. Highly recommend for any other self-teacher who wants to place extra emphasis on the geometric aspect of calculus. I also enjoy the history lessons given throughout the book. My one critique is that some of the practice problems are a much more difficult than the examples given in the text. I have been supplementing with “The Organic Chemistry Tutor” on YouTube and this has been helpful when I get stuck on problems.

⭐Efficient transaction and product just as described by seller

⭐There is one feature of this book that is very puzzling. The level of algebraic skill that is almost immediately involved is FAR beyond that outlined in the same author’s “Pre-Calculus Mathematics in a Nutshell.” In the latter book, Simmons states that today’s beginning calculus students know far less than the book covers. So it would seem to make sense that a text for beginning calculus students would take this limited knowledge base into account. But this calculus book demands a lot more than that; for example, on p.102 the student is asked, without any hint of an explanation, to solve a quadratic equation in two variables as though one of the variables was a constant (“solve for y in terms of x by using the quadratic formula”). And this is just one of many examples where Simmons assumes a very high degree of skill at sheer mechanical manipulation of algebraic expressions.

⭐This book is a treasure! Very clear, and actually enjoyable to read. It’s my go-to when I come up against any tricky concepts in calculus. The author understands calculus so thoroughly, and loves it so much, that he’s able to make even subtle concepts crystal clear and interesting.

⭐I own all of Professor Simmons’ books not only for their mathematical clarity and incredible instructiveness, but because his books are, in addition, the most interesting books I have read from a literary viewpoint. They are a complete joy to own and to read over and over. With reference to his Calculus text, it is clearly the best on the market. If you are in search of a deep understanding of the principles and applicability of this subject, then Dr. Simmons’ text is the book to buy and own.Bottom line.

⭐The author George F Simmons shows from the first pages of his book a passion in calculus. In a book where we learn calculus in a robust and secure way and that you have access to historical information about the development of calculus, is full of curiosities. I assure that the reader who wishes to study calculus of truth and ensure a full learning , this book is the best choice! I’m an electrical engineer and I’m always revising and improving my skills using this book. Fantastic!

⭐I am a Chemistry and Mathematics major at Marian University. This book is the most readable way to learn calculus on your own. The author makes the information in calculus fun and exciting by adding in interesting scenarios by way of examples as well as history. This is a great book and I highly recommend anyone who is trying to learn calculus formally or informally. Absolutely the best reading math textbook I have ever encountered.
