Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I first purchased this in 2006 and fell in love with the truffles. I already had a successful and yum peanut butter balls recipe, which I loved, but I used his and upped the quality on mine. Then, sadly, I lent the book out and never got it back. I was a skeptic at first as I’m not a fan of the “Dummies” series in general, the name seems to “dumb down” what you expect. But this is by a true chocolatier, the recipes are great and the tips-n-hints wonderful also. I love the recommended utensils and ingredients information, which are still relevant today in 2019. I’m not lending this out again!

⭐This is so helpful for making the candies that I have been wanting to make. Good tips and recipes for the home candy maker. I thought I had all that I needed, but this book helped in so many other ways, with explaining the why’s of using certain things, and how they help make the candy more tasty and longer lasting. I have a new Chocolate Tempering machine so I will be making lots of chocolates from now on, for gifts for family and friends. Earlene B.

⭐Whether you’ve been making candy for years, or you’ve never tried it before, you’ll get lots out of this book. I actually run a candy-making business, and I still got quite a bit out of this book! The recipes are quite good and fairly simple. I got several ideas for tweaking recipies I already have, and got ideas for new ones. Plus they have a lot of good tips that everyone needs to remember. The most important thing to remember, if you’re just starting out making candy, is this: IT’S OKAY TO SCREW UP! Even us veterans have catastrophic failures sometimes; it just happens!I’ve always liked the ‘For Dummies’ series; it’s simple, straightforward, and easy to read and get something out of. Candy for Dummies is another great addition.

⭐I found this book to be very approachable as a beginner. A lot of other candy making books assume that you have previous knowledge of the terminology and techniques of candy making. This book, however, teaches you from the ground up, so if you’re not sure if you’re ready for candy making, this book will provide you with the first step that you need in order to get started. Another nice thing about this book is that it provides a lot of recipes, so you’ll never run out of things to try making. In particular, I found the chapters on making chocolates to be very useful. Chocolate making can be a fairly technical field, but the author of this book makes chocolate making easy to approach. If you’re interested in candy making, but don’t have any experience in the field, then this is the book for you.

⭐This is a great book full of what look like very delicious recipes and helpful tips but i got the book to make simple hard candys. Guess what there is not a single recipe or mention of in the book? No hard candy recipes at all.

⭐Candy making does not just mean chocolate and mints. What about Hard Candy, Jelly Beans, all the fruit flavored candies from Sweet Tarts to Dots, Red Licorice, Gummy Bears, Sour Anything, and on, and on…Rename your book to Chocolate Candy Making

⭐The item was shipped exactly as described and the item was just as described. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the basics of Candy Making.

⭐Easy to use, eliminates all the unnecessary stuff.

⭐this is a great book for serious candy/chocolate makers. It has loads of useful information and covers pretty much everything you need to know, good book. The only bad coment I’d make is it’s an American book and doesn’t have the conversions of weights or terms to English, but if you have come across some of the terms or have other books you can look these up in it’s not to much of a problem, you can find conversion tables on the net.

⭐The book is really good for both newbie and novice people, load of useful and detail imformation especially small things you need to notice.Although not relating to candy making, I love the way the authour write, friendly and fun.Another thing is that it is really light. I know many people like book with super white, flashy with beautiful pictures and weith measured by kg; but I more like a light book, easy to read with the same number of pages and you can carry it around easyly. After all this is a practical book.

⭐As with all the books in this series, no frills but lots of good info.if you can live without glossy photos this is a great resource

    ⭐Very good informative.

⭐Ingredients in cup measurements – not easy to use
