Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Great condition, heavy content. First year of grad school this is a staple. Wish there was a good companion to this book to go into further details when Jackson “leaves it to the reader” but overall this textbook is rather thorough.
⭐Great book. One of the classics in Electrodynamics. Solid writing, easy to reference.
⭐Can’t answer a single question in the first chapter coming out of my BS degree. Isn’t that beautful? Bring it on!
⭐Excellent quality thanks
⭐The book provides an in-depth mathematical explanation of electrodynamic laws and phenomena, including, but not limited to electrostatics, electrodynamics and electromagnetic wave propagation. I sincerely recommend it to anyone interested in acquiring a complete understanding of electrodynamics.
⭐Seriously someone has to rewrite this boring textbook that has troubled grad students for decades. Dense and not the easiest to understand.
⭐Good
⭐As described and arrived on time.
⭐As a postgraduate student, I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is working in electrodynamics. The book is incredibly detailed, offers a good range of problems to properly test the reader’s understanding. I will admit that, for people with little background in electrodynamics (myself included, I’m really based in continuum mechanics), it is rather tough work to figure out where Jackson gets some of his results sometimes, but I found that supplementing it with a lower level text (Griffiths’
⭐Introduction to Electrodynamics (Pie)
⭐or similar) really made a lot of difference, providing me with a tad more background and a reminder of some of the more commonly used mathematical techniques. Of particular use to me was the incredibly instructive appendix on units, along with the section on the Abraham-Lorentz equation, which was part of the focus of my final year honours project at undergraduate.
⭐The perfect book for Electrodynamics; quite extensive and with very wide coverage not only of electrodynamics, but also electrostatics and mathematica methods for electromagnetic theory.I still love to read the paragraph on the existence of magnetics monopoles….though it exceeds my comprension!!!
⭐Some passages are difficult to read and my version arrived covered in red tape, even though I bought it brand new. Covers a very large range of subjects however.
⭐Jackson’s masterpiece treatment of electrodynamics in an affordable binding. As the author says in the preface to the previous edition: May the reader benefit and enjoy!
⭐Goooooood!!
