It is thus a good moment for me to collect, update and improve my graduate lecture notes on quantum chromodynamics and the theory of electroweak interactions, with main focus on collider physics. From the Foreword by Gian Giudice. About the Author Guido Altarelli (1941 – 2015) was a Senior Staff Physicist at the Theory Division of CERN and the Theory Division Leader from 2000 to 2004. Best known for his contribution on the QCD evolution equations for parton densities, known as the Altarelli- Parisi or DGLAP equations, he received the 2011 Julius Wess Award for Outstanding Achievements in Elementary Particle and Astroparticle Physics (KIT), the 2012 J. J. Sakurai Prize for Theoretical Particle Physics (APS) and the 2015 High Energy and Particle Physics Prize from the EPS.

⭐Leggendo il libro ho ritrovato tutta la chiarezza e completezza del prof. Altarelli, che mi ha seguito nel lavoro di tesi di laurea molti anni fa. Un libro eccellente che lo rappresenta in maniera perfetta. Lui amava la fisica teorica fenomenologica, ossia che spiega, o prevede, i dati sperimentali. E il libro esprime esattamente questo aspetto dei suoi gusti, raccontandolo con pacata semplicità.Non è un libro per amatori della disciplina, si deve conoscere almeno un poco la teoria dei campi.Per me una lettura piacevole.
